We’re thrilled to share some updates from the Dziret’ái Pilot Training Program.
Our dedicated students have been making remarkable strides in their Elevated Skills program, diving into subjects like physics, math, literacy, Indigenous studies, and communications. Thanks to our incredible partners—Foundations Learning and Skills Saskatchewan, FlexED, and the First Nations University of Canada—they’re gaining the knowledge and skills they need to succeed!
That’s not all…we’ve also been fortunate to receive invaluable community and cultural support from amazing individuals like Linda McNabb, Mel Mercredi, and Patricia Kinch. Their guidance has enriched our students' learning experiences and helped foster a strong sense of community.
Recently, the students participated in a health and wellbeing day, where they not only focused on their personal growth but also built meaningful connections with one another while completing various tasks. It’s heartwarming to see them come together, supporting each other on this journey!
Our students truly understand the significance of this opportunity, and they’re eager to give back. As part of one of their tasks, they decided to support local charities and not-for-profits that resonate with them. It’s inspiring to witness their commitment to making a difference in the community.
One of the highlights has been the initiative taken by a small group of students who came together to plan and coordinate the Santa in the North gift packing for over 1,500 children in the Athabasca Basin. Many of these students received Santa in the North gift bags during their own school years, and they were determined to pay it forward to the next generation. Their generosity and kindness truly embody the spirit of giving!
