Thank you to everyone who was able to participate in our Northern Flying Tour.

Unfortunately due to the smoke and limited visibility during the tour we were unable to get to Fond du Lac and Uranium City. We attempted a flight, but upon departure from Stony Rapids, we could see that visibility was not good enough and we prioritized safety.

We know this would be disappointing for those who had flights booked, but we won't compromise on safety, it's at the heart of this program.

We were able to bring a Cessna training aircraft to Wollaston Lake and Stony Rapids for discovery flights.  Those who sat at the controls were able to see what it takes for a pilot to safely control an aircraft during flight.

Along with our flight instructor Shawna who answered questions about flying, Dene Cree Robillard was at each location to answer questions about the program.

Discovery flights were free of charge. Recordings of audio and video from the northern tour will be distributed for public communication.

Please note that flight schedules were subject to change based on weather conditions and other external factors beyond our control. Discovery flights were be conducted by Mitchinson Flight Centre, the provider of flight training to this program.
